France V England
This friendly match marks the official end of the season. France vs England should be the biggest match thanks to the 100 years war, but it seems other wars got in the way. France have been on a high since getting to the final of Euro 2016 on home soil. They have also had an injection of exciting players like Kylian Mbappe to go along with their newest stars Griezsmann and Pogba.
England are coming off the back of a 2-2 draw with Scotland. Harry Kane came to the rescue with an equalizer in the 93rd minute. With France a likely harder proposition than Scotland, England need to buck up their ideas. With it being a friendly though and with so many games under Kane’s belt it will be interesting to see if he gets a run out.
A few new players will get a shot and Heaton is likely to start in goal. With the like of Mbappe and Grieszmann bearing down on him he could be in for a tough night. Dimitri Payet makes a return to England and will find some boo boys if West Ham fans show up. He could be motivated to pull out his book of tricks so we think he could be a likely first scorer. France are favourites but with both teams licking their wounds a draw is most likely.
It feels like a bore to keep saying this but Dustin Johnson is once again one of the favourites. Since his major victory last year at US Open he has added five more wins to this and also made it to World Number #1. It seems he has started to tame his simple big hitting ways and brought some class to proceedings.
The days of a Big 3 or 4 seem to be over which means the possibilities of winners is expanded which is good news for you sport betters. More choice means, bigger odds and big wins.
If you think back-to-back championships might be a step too far for Dustin Johnson but you like his style John Rahm is often accused of being Dustin-Lite. Fan favourite (and ours) Sergio Garcia will be looking to make himself King of 2017. It would be a storybook event but I can’t imagine it and in good conscious recommend him for the win.
I am going to go for someone who knows these courses and whose average finish this year is just 17.5. Rickie Fowler is a perennial nearly boy but this US Open in Wisconsin could change that.
Game 5 NBA Finals
Golden State Warriors looked like they were certain to take the NBA finals in their stride when they went up 3-0. Lebron and his Cavaliers managed to stop them in game four but with game five upon us can they really stop the Warrior freight train.
The Cavs were not willing to lose on their home turf but now must face up to doing it again away from home. Game 5 takes place in the Oracle Arena. Not only were the Warriors denied a championship but also a sweep to the title without losing a game. The way they react will be crucial to whether they have the metal to be Champions.
It may be wishful hoping to get another epic finals but for Cavaliers to repeat the feat from the weekend in San Francisco looks a step too far. A simple choice of a Warriors win and Curry the highest points scorer is the logical choice.
